From the Editor
I started publishing Northwest Garden News in
1995, while I still held a full-time job. A lot has happened since then—I've seen other gardening publications come
and go—but my commitment to bringing high-quality gardening information to readers gets stronger by the year.
My goal—our mission, if you will—is to help readers be the most successful
gardeners they can be. I want a love of gardening to be passed on to future generations. I believe that gardeners can, one
backyard at a time, help to restore health to our planet. We can provide habitat for wildlife, restore lost trees, and create
natural spaces for future generations to grow up in.
Many of us live
in urban and suburban environments. I believe we must maintain a relationship with nature for our physical and mental health.
If Northwest Garden News can provide information that enhances readers' relationship with the earth, we have done our job.
Please contact me if you have ideas, suggestions or solutions that can help advance
our goals.
